Valentine 2009 – Eat Your Hearts Out

valentine-header-copy3

The Wandering Boots goes food-tripping for a different kind of Valentine’s Day experience!

Being a fan of Anton’s OAP, I’ve decided to list down the restaurants that have earned the best reviews and go to all of them in one day with Mario (my fiancé).   A pig-out food trip…  Which isn’t very ideal considering we’re both trying to lose a few pounds before the wedding.  Well, it’s only for one day…  ^_^  Of course we couldn’t possibly go to all of the good places so I set some criteria to narrow down my options (uniqueness, affordability and location).  I chose my final 5 and have them in order of Breakfast, Lunch, Mirienda, Dinner and Late Night Munch.

Since I work graveyard shift, without any sleep, I got ready at 8AM, put on my boots, waited for Mario, and off we went…

1st Stop.  Kopi Roti – Morning Coffee

Set D is on the left which is Kopi and Kaya Toast. The really puffy looking bun in the middle is the Kopi Bun. Set A is the one on the right which is the French toast with Kopi. The white thingies at the bottom of the Kopi cups is consdenced milk. And if you're wondering what that yellow paste is with the butter on the French toast plate, that's the Kaya spread. It's Coconut jam with egg and other stuff.

2nd Stop.  Aling Lucing’s Sisig – Lunch (we were suppose to go to Petra and Pilar but they were close on that day)

On top, torso of a hungry customer named "Mario", middle is the Combo 2 (Sisig with BBQ) and at the bottom is Combo 1 (Sisig with Vegetables).

3rd Stop.  Amici’s Gelato – Dessert

Here's the Amici's Gelato booth. There were tables and monoblock chairs all around the place, were you can eat your gelato.
